Delali Goka
PT, DPT

Delali Goka was born in Accra, Ghana. At the age of four, she and her family immigrated to New York City from Liberia. Her family eventually settled in White Plains, New York.

Experience:

Delali has been a licensed physical therapist since 2004. She developed her skills at Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Hospital in Rockland County, an affiliate of New York Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Presently, along with being co-owner of A Healthier You, Delali is a Senior Acute Care Physical Therapist and lead physical therapist for the Open Heart Surgery In-patient Rehabilitation Program at The Stamford Hospital in Connecticut.

Her clinical experience includes practice in aquatic therapy, acute and sub-acute rehabilitation, acute care, and private home physical therapy. Delali also serves as a clinical lab instructor for Mercy College Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.

Education:

Delali earned her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts in 2004. Delali returned to Northeastern University where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009.

LIcense and Certifications:

  • New York State license in Physical Therapy
  • Connecticut State license in Physical Therapy
  • Certified by American Red Cross for CPR and Basic Life Support

Professional Organizations and Activities:

Delali is a cardiopulmonary and geriatric section member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). She is active in the APTA's Hudson Valley district chapter.

A person of many interests and intensely passionate about her profession, Delali has remained an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association as a delegate in Delegate Assembly and a participant in APTA's Lobby Day in
Albany, New York.

Delali believes in healthy communities. She has written wellness and health articles for websites and magazines. Her love for the community, the empowerment of others, and life itself have led her in many pursuits, including the development of A Healthier You, LLP.
